Immersion-Cooling Systems

Immersion cooling submerges the entire miner in a dielectric fluid, removing heat from every surface rather than just the chip package, which allows higher sustained clocks and near-silent operation.

Zyrix supplies immersion-ready miners, small-scale C-Series kits for home and office use, and B-Series modular containers for farm-scale deployment.

How immersion cooling works

Miners are submerged in a non-conductive dielectric fluid inside a sealed or open tank. The fluid absorbs heat directly from every board and chip surface, then circulates to a heat exchanger — typically a coolant-distribution-unit (CDU) loop connected to an external dry cooler — where the heat is rejected. Because the fluid contacts components directly rather than relying on airflow across a heatsink, immersion systems tolerate higher clock settings with more thermal headroom than air or even hydro cooling in some configurations.

C-Series: home and office kits

The C-Series is our compact immersion range built for individual miners or small office deployments, including the Immersion Cooling Kit C2 12kW, which packages a tank, dielectric fluid circulation, and a compact radiator suited to a handful of units without requiring a dedicated facility build-out. It pairs well with immersion-ready hardware such as the Antminer S21 XP Immersion and Antminer S23 Immersion (442Th/s).

B-Series: modular containers

The B-Series scales the same principle to farm level: pre-fabricated modular containers house dozens of immersion tanks per unit, each connected to a shared dry cooler loop, allowing operators to add mining capacity in discrete container blocks rather than building bespoke facility cooling from scratch. This modularity shortens deployment timelines for bulk orders since the cooling infrastructure ships and commissions alongside the hardware.

Dielectric fluid handling

Dielectric fluid must stay clean and correctly leveled to avoid exposing board edges to air, and fluid needs periodic testing for dielectric breakdown as it ages with heat cycling. Handling requires care: fluid should be filtered when boards are removed for service, and any topped-up fluid should match the original specification to avoid compatibility issues between different fluid chemistries.

Density, kW/rack, and warranty implications

Immersion tanks typically support materially higher kW per rack footprint than air cooling because there's no airflow clearance requirement between boards, which is the main driver for choosing B-Series at farm scale. As with hydro systems, manufacturer chip and board warranty terms remain intact, but fluid-related damage from using an incompatible or contaminated dielectric fluid is generally outside standard warranty coverage — always use fluid specified or approved for the installed hardware.
